Golf Professional

Michael’s affiliation with Pyecombe Golf Club started in 1992 when he joined with his Father and Brother as a junior member aged 11. He went on to win the Junior Club Championship 5 times and the Men’s Club Championship aged 17.

Michael represented Sussex as an amateur and captained the county on several occasions. He won Sussex Champion of Champions and the Sussex Order of Merit in 1999, turning professional the year after whilst working as assistant professional at Pyecombe Golf Club.

In 2002 he started work at East Brighton Golf Club and at 22 Michael became fully qualified with the PGA.

Michael started work at Hassocks Golf Club in 2004 as Assistant Professional and in 2009 became Head Professional.

Michael re-joined the professional staff at Pyecombe Golf Club in June 2015, taking the position of Head Professional. On his appointment the professional shop was completely re-furbished and in October 2017 he opened an indoor swing studio at the club.

Michael is joined by Nick George and Rob McGrory in the professional shop. Nick is a fully qualified PGA professional with over 15 years’ experience. Rob has over 8 years’ experience and has both Level 1 and 2 PGA coaching badges.

The golf shop is part of Foremost Golf, the largest buying group in the UK which means they buy all the products at the best prices available, guaranteeing the best prices for members and visitors. The shop is stocked with major club brands including Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist and Cleveland.

The Pro-Shop is always fully stocked and open 7 days a week with free parking.

Tuition can be booked at convenient times - weekdays, weekends and evenings. The shop offers a full club repair service, from re-grips to re-shafts. Repairs can often be turned around within 24 hours.
